Today was a great day. I got to see an awesome movie with my handsome fiancé (it is called Hanna and you should go see it), ate some yummy Hibachi Express, it is FRIDAY, and I got Starbucks at Barnes&Noble, leading to me buying the two best magazines a girl like me could ask for: REAL SIMPLE & VOGUE Living (Australia). The interior designer and OCD organizer inside me are so happy right now.
See? Delight. (Ignore the dorky night-time glasses and lack of make-up; it is past my bed time.)
AND I get to lay in the sun and have a drinky-poo with my loverly flat mate all day tomorrow since it is her special birthday day and has requested we do such things. AND then church on Sunday which I am so excited for since I have been traveling so much and have not been able to go.
What a glorious weekend! Carry on, bloggers. I will see you in the morn.
Thank you for being so beautiful and encouraging <3
No problem, m’dear! Thank YOU for being such a light for others in long distance relationships. Just know that it is such a beautiful gift to have at the end of the distance and beginning of your lives together!
We are...what do you call it? Oh yeah, Soul Mates.
I don’t mean to drone on about the same thing all the time, but I must say, it is my favorite thing to discuss if people ever ask. Or don’t ask… I talk a lot about Joe either way. However, I find talking about who I call my “earthly everything” extremely awesome every time.
So my favorite story to tell is the one about “us.” If anyone ever is interested, I wrote a 17 page story in my creative writing class in college three years ago about it that I would be willing to somehow share; possibly page by page over a period of time. I really should write the rest of it… maybe I will do that next week.
Long story short, Joe moved to my hometown in 5th grade and we met in 7th. He says he noticed me in 6th, but I think he is sucking up. We became good friends in 8th grade through Sophomore year of high school when Joe asked me out… multiple times. After saying “no” because I was afraid of his affection and ruining our friendship (which, if I ever post my longer story, you will know more about), I went to my mom’s for the summer and realized that I really did like him. I came home for school, started powderpuff practices (Joe was a coach), and told Joe in the hallway one day to “call me tonight” followed by a very flirty high five. Nice, I know. So he calls me, I tell him that I lied and do like him, and he doesn’t ask me out over the phone which totally sucks.
On my sixteenth birthday I told my friends that his butt was cute and my parents gave me a pair of panties that said “Don’t mess with me, my boyfriend is a football player.” I guess that set the stage, but Joe asked me out at a JV football game about three weeks later; it was awesome.
We broke up once, which I will talk about either in another post or if anyone is interested to know, but we got back together obviously and have been for 5 years. Through 4 years of long distance in college we have made it. I cannot wait to marry this man who makes me feel so beautiful every single day. I am a very few 51 days away and it is amazing to me that he is all mine! I feel pretty blessed.
I felt the need to tell you followers that because… I guess I want everyone to feel like there is hope for love. No matter your age or weight or personality, someone is meant for you. You just have to be patient. Do something great with your life while you are waiting for him or her, that way you will have a lot of amazing stories to talk about someday.
